Punjabi Chicken Curry

Hello all my fellow bloggers…writing something after a long time, since I was busy with tackling a beast called “Qualifiers” in this part of the world. So without wasting much lets get down to business. I am going to share with you guys the recipe of Punjabi Chicken Curry. I learnt this recipe and its method of cooking while I was in India this summer to spend some quality time with my family. Its actually microwave based cooking, so I guess its a less hassle for people who gets really busy and have less time for cooking. Here it goes:

Ingredients:

800 gm chicken(cut into pieces), 1 cup curd,  2 large onions(being made into a paste), 1 cup tomato puree, 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 3 tbsp ghee, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, salt(according to taste)

Procedure:

1. Mix chicken pieces with curd, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder and salt and keep it marianted for half an hour in the refrigerator.

2. Take a microwave-safe bowl, add ghee and onion paste, tomato puree, coriander powder and cumin powder. Microwave covered at 100% power for 15-20 minutes, stirring in between.

3. Add the marinated chicken to the onion paste and other masalas. Pour 1/2 to 1 cup of water and mix it thoroughly. Cover it and microwave at 100% power for 15-20 minutes, stirring in between.

4. Add garam masala and further microwave at 80% power for 5 minutes.

5. Serve hot with roti or rice.

Below is the image of the Punjabi Chicken Curry which I prepared using the above recipe.

Jules Verne restaurant

Jules Verne restaurant at the foot of Eiffel Tower. Well if Paris is the romance capital of the world, this place will definitely be the epicenter of your most romantic dinner. I have always been a fan of Jules Verne books since my childhood. Best was “ Around the world in 80 days” where I first understood, that we gain time while moving from east to west.” But I also relished reading “20000 leagues under the sea” and “ Journey to the centre of the earth”. But after many years, seeing the name of Jules Verne on a reataurant, attracted me right away.

Well, given the charismatic location of the restaurant, there is bound to be a lot of traffic. The average meal cost per person would be $250, and the biggest catch is:” You need to book atleast 3 months in advance”. So if you want to dine here, before planning for your flight do your online reservation at http://www.lejulesverne-paris.com/.

Annachi – The chettinad hub

Well, for all the spice loving people, this is a very interesting place to Visit. Annachi at 100 feet road, Indiranagar has a nice decor and ambience. Also the waiters attend well. The cost for two may range from 300 -400 INR. I got some history of chettinad too from that restaurant that you might like to know. Chettinad means land of Chettiyar. They thrive in Sivagangai district of Tamil Nadu. Karaikudi, is the capital of chettinad district. It is the homeland of Nattukottai Chettiyars ( Nattukottai ), a prospective banking and business community. They particularly migrated to Burma and Ceylon in 19th and 20th century. So you can also observe some artwork on Burma teak and rich decorations. I will be sharing some pictures of the interiors too.

Annachi

I liked the soup. Chicken and mutton Biryani is good and different. Mutton gravy is good too. Also they have strange things like brain fry etc which i didnot try.  Brinjal curry is really tasty for veggies. I would also warn that almost everything is very spicy, with pepper, chilli, tamarind etc. So make sure you have that appetite in you before barging in :)

P. F. Chang’s – China Bistro

Howdi…

A few friends and I were recently in Loveland, CO and had dinner at P. F. Chang’s …. it was an awesome experience… everything from the food and the ambience to the service was exceptional….I have always been a chinese food lover and chang’s was the best i have had so far in my 6 years in the mountain region….

I had the mongolian beef and my friends had a lamb entree….. both were mouth wateringly good…. and the tiramisu was just out of this world…. although we had “other reasons” to like the desert…..

Wherever you are in the U. S. try P. F. Chang’s …..you will love it!!!
